During COVID-19 we want to make sure we are keeping all of our 4-H families up to date as much as we possibly can! During this time we will be releasing the “Friday News” where we will hopefully answer any questions you may have; these will also be available on our website to view. The entire Wyoming county 4-h staff is here for anything you and your families may need during this time so please do not hesitate to reach out to any of us with your question(s)!

Meat animal updates…

  • Meat Animal Lamb Project Members - animal registration sheets are due 5/15. You can scan and email forms to hmh62@cornell.edu , mail to the office, or place in our drop box at the 4-H office at 36 Center Street in Warsaw (which is available 24/7.)
  • Meat Animal Swine Project Members - animal registration sheets are due 5/15. You can scan and email forms to hmh62@cornell.edu , mail to the office, or place in our drop box at the 4-H office at 36 Center Street in Warsaw (which is available 24/7.)
  • Meat Animal Beef Project Members - you do not need to fill out any paperwork at this time.
  • Market Broiler Project Members - you will receive mail correspondence to confirm your orders and pickup information by early June.

YQCA Certification Program coupon codes are available for meat animal BEEF, LAMB, & SWINE members by emailing hmh62@cornell.edu. Poultry and goat members are not required to complete this program at this time.

Family & Consumer Science updates…

  • Pickup of Gladiola Bulbs, & Giant Vegetable Seeds and plants will be this Monday, May 18th 4-7pm for curbside pickup at the Ag & Business Center. It looks like rain is in the forecast, so pickup will be by the loading dock. Please let Sarah know (sac347@cornell.edu) if you’re unable to come during this scheduled time to pick up, and we can make other arrangements. The 4-H Staff is still working from home, but able to make accommodations if necessary, planning is just required!
  • Virtual Wyoming County 4-H Cookbook.....Are you cooking or baking since being home? Email Sarah sac347@cornell.edu your recipes and pictures! Submit by June 15th. These will be compiled for a virtual cookbook that will be posted on our website – to celebrate that while we weren’t able to be together, we can share the delicious creations we made at home!! A 2020 update of a Wyoming county 4-H cookbook, we invite 4-H friends and families to submit recipes that mean something special to them, and their family.

Virtual offerings…

  • Join us on Wednesday, May 20th at 6PM for a statewide virtual Hour of Code. Hour of Code is an introduction to computer science, designed to demystify “code” and show that anyone can learn together the basics to be a maker, a creator, an innovator!! THIS program is for youth ages 8-14 and requires an adult chaperone to join

At home activities…

  • The Wyoming County 4-H Program is excited to announce the opportunity to pick up a packet full of approximately 10 hands-on activities. Activities & supplies include mini barn quilts, vegetable seeds, animal digestion, equine coloring books, and more! Free to all enrolled Wyoming County 4-H youth, only 200 of these packets will be available. To streamline the process, you MUST use the following link to register each individual youth. Registration will close Monday May 25th. Curbside pickup of the 4-H activity packets will be Wednesday, May 27th 4pm-7pm at the Ag & Business Center parking lot. When picking up, please arrive at the time you selected during registration.   • Facebook Challenge - Week 4....We are on to our next Wyoming County 4-H Challenge. This week we want you to show us your 4-H Family! We are encouraging our 4-H members to share a picture of you along with your 4-H family; they might be right at home with you or physically distanced at the moment. Take new picture or find one of your favorites. Remember this is for Wyoming County 4-H members, keep it 4-HA (4-H appropriate) and spread some joy! We will randomly choose one photo participant to receive some 4-H swag this Saturday evening! (last week’s winner can be found in the comment section from that challenge post)
