Analyzing Maple Syrup

This workshop is to acquaint WNY maple producers on the
newest testing equipment.
- Learn about how a Spectrophotometer can be used to determine the correct grade and best use for
- how the Biochemistry Analyzer will be able to
determine the percent alcohol in products such as the Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple
- how a Digital Benchtop Refractometer will give
an accurate and narrow range of brix in maple products.
We will be testing the accuracy of refractometers and
hydrometers, so bring your equipment with you!
$10/person, or $5 if enrolled. Refreshments included.
