Analyzing Maple Syrup For Maple Producers

  • Friday, October 13, 2017, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

This workshop is to acquaint WNY maple producers on the newest testing equipment.

  • Learn about how a Spectrophotometer can be used to determine the correct grade and best use for syrup samples,
  • how the Biochemistry Analyzer will be able to determine the percent alcohol in products such as the Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup, and
  • how a Digital Benchtop Refractometer will give an accurate and narrow range of brix in maple products.
  • Learn about using a water activity meter

We will be testing the accuracy of refractometers and hydrometers, so bring your equipment with you!
