Join Cornell Cooperative Extension at The Vintage Cow Farmers Market for a fun and educational gardening workshop. We will be gathering to demonstrate how to build an inexpensive wooden raised garden bed. Demonstration will include a how-to on planting asparagus and discussion on maintaining the planting for an abundant perennial asparagus crop.

   

Topics will include:

Types of materials needed to construct and fill your raised garden bed

Benefits of raised bed gardening

Local sources of materials

Good crops for raised beds

How to plant asparagus

Care for and maintenance for a successful asparagus patch

Q and A on gardening topics
