Join Us for a Hands-On Dairy Showing Clinic – Perfect for Beginners! Are you a youth interested in learning how to prepare and present your dairy calf in the show ring? Whether you’re brand new or just looking to brush up on your skills, mark your calendar for Saturday, June 28 and join us for a Dairy Showing Clinic designed especially with novice exhibitors in mind!

This free clinic will run from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (or until we’re finished), and it’s open to all youth who want to improve their dairy showmanship and fitting techniques. We plan to begin promptly at 10:00 AM, so please arrive between 9:00 and 10:00 AM to allow time to unload, set up, and get ready. All trailers should enter through the Main Street entrance of the fairgrounds for easy access to the barns.

What to Expect: Led by experienced local dairy folks, this clinic will cover all the basics of:

Proper washing and grooming

Clipping and fitting your calf

Showmanship skills and ring presence

Equipment tips and tricks

Q&A time with seasoned show veterans

What to Bring:

Your calf (heifer)

Wash bucket and soaps

Water pail

Hay

A few bales of shavings per heifer

Pitchfork

Show halter

Clippers

Blower/dryer

What’s Provided:

Wheelbarrows

Expert guidance

A fun, supportive atmosphere!

You do not need to bring a calf to register or participate, but this is a great learning opportunity for both you and your calf. Hands-on experience is the best way to build confidence and prepare for future shows.
