July 15th -9:00-noon: We’re kicking off Day One by stepping back in time, discovering how children entertain themselves before electricity and batteries. Campers will have the opportunity to learn about games and toys of that period and will make a few to take home to share with their family.
Make & Take Craft: rag doll, Whirligig, Ball & Triangle game
July 21st - 6:30pm An evening of Native American storytelling under the pavilion; Kay Swyers will share some of the Native American stories she grew up hearing.
July 22nd - 9:00-noon: We will be looking at Indigenous Heritage connecting with history through traditional crafts and storytelling. We will be learning about and making a wampum belt and a talking stick, and they will also be making a storybook.
Make & Take Craft: Wampum belt, Talking stick, genealogy
July 29th - 9:00-noon:We will be looking at our story: by looking at family, clothing, cooking. We will be completing some of the activities put out by George Washington’s Mount Vernon plans for the 250th anniversary.
