Come learn about tractor and machinery saefty, equipment maintenance and how engines run! The following opportunities will be offered by the Wyoming County 4-H Program during 2025:
Year 1: For youth 10 years or older that would like to learn about small engines, lawn mowers, etc.
Year 2: For youth 11 years old who have completed Year 1 program.
Year 3: For youth 12 years old who have completed Year 2 program.
Pre-Certification: For youth 13 years old who have completed Years 1, 2 or 3 and are interested in the certification program the following year. We will focus on non-core curriculum from the NSTMOP program.
National Safe Tractor and Machinery Operation Program: For youth 14-15 years old that would like to work on a farm for hire and operate a tractor over 20 horsepower. (Participates must be 14 years old by 4/1/2025).
Certification Course: $20 registration fee. Once you are registered, pick up an instruction manual from the 4-H office (manuals may be mailed for an additional fee). Requirements for certification: 12-15 hours of reading and self-study, attend all meetings, and pass both a written test and driving test. **Register ASAP to allow yourself time to pick up an instruction manual and complete homework before first class!
Years 1, 2, 3 and Pre-Certification: $5.00 registration fee. Please fill out registration form below and return to the 4-H office as soon as possible along with the registration fee. Requirements for completion: attend at least three out of five events.
All participants must be enrolled as a Wyoming County 4-H member or a 4-H member in any neighboring county.
Snow dates are reserved for Wednesday evenings each week if needed.
