‘Maple Syrup is a pure natural product unique to North America. The Cornell Sugar Maple Program exists to improve the production and use of Maple products by working with producers, consumers, and others interested in this fascinating local product.’ -Cornell Sugar Maple Research and Extension Program
One of the major products of Wyoming County, maple syrup production continues to grow with new sugarhouses and developed sugarbushes in each township. Value added products such as granulated maple sugar, maple cream, or molded maple are also growing in volume and variety, and can be purchased at many sugarhouses, farm markets, and local stores throughout the county. Don’t miss the WNY Maple School in December for continuing maple production education and sugarbush forest management.
