During COVID-19 we want to make sure we are keeping all of our 4-H families up to date as much as we possibly can! The entire Wyoming county 4-h staff is here for anything you and your families may need during this time so please do not hesitate to reach out to any of us with your question(s)!


A hard copy of the June-September 4-H news should be in your mailboxes this week, if you haven't already received it! Please make sure you take a look through it as there are several deadlines quickly approaching! Link to the 4-H news: June-September 4-H News


Dog updates…

  • The summer is in full swing! We have two trials scheduled for July 8th and 13th.

o For those who missed graduation on Wednesday evening or did not receive a red or a blue ribbon, you have two more opportunities to graduate your dog!! Unless you have a medical reason, you must attend BOTH of the trials to participate in the Wyoming County Fair.

o If you did graduate your dog this week, you will need to attend one of the two upcoming trials.

o Don’t forget, fair entries are due by July 15th if you haven’t already turned it in!


Horse updates…

  • Horse Leaders Meeting Monday June 21st at the Ag & Business Center
  • Last chance horse educational event!! Tuesday, July 13th, trail clinic immediately following the rider evaluation at 6pm at Heritage Hill Farm, 7618 Spear Rd., Perry


FCS Updates…

  • Watch your mailbox for the latest edition of the 4-H news! We’re excited to have youth building exhibits back at the Wyoming County Fairgrounds this year. It is not too late to start new projects (crafts, photography, sewing, woodworking, food preservation, etc.) for evaluation on August 13th! Fair books will be out later next week and is a great resource for referencing all of the classes’ projects can be submitted this year!


Livestock updates...

Full details for all of the upcoming clinics and workshops can be found in the current edition of the 4-H News.

  • Swine Showmanship Clinic: Tuesday, June 29th @ 6:00pm. 5677 Michigan Road, Arcade (Falconer Meats) We will split into groups and work through showmanship and fitting techniques and take a tour of the processing facility. Please RSVP by calling the 4-H office by Monday, June 28th.
  • Livestock Marketing Meeting: Wednesday, June 30th @ 7:00pm. Camp Wyomoco. Please RSVP by calling the 4-H office by Tuesday, June 29th.
  • Beef Showmanship Clinic: Thursday, July 8th @ 7:00pm. 3853 Silver Spring Road, Silver Springs. Please RSVP by calling the 4-H office by Wednesday, July 7th.
  • Sheep Showmanship Clinic: Thursday July 16th @ 6:00pm. 1698 Nesbitt Road, Attica. Please RSVP by calling the 4-H office by Wednesday, July 15th.


4-H meat animal market updates…

  • For 2021, we are combining the two 4-H auctions traditionally held at fair for the 53rd Annual Meat Animal Auction on Wednesday, August 18th. We will begin with poultry, promptly at 5:00pm, then move on to market goats, baked goods, hogs, lambs, beef and dairy beef. We hope that by combining the two events, we will be able to attract a larger buyer base, reduce the need to buyers to come twice, along with more benefits!

Shooting Sports

Best of luck to Rachael Paddock and Hannah Spicer as they travel to Grand Island, Nebraska for the National 4-H Shooting Sports Championships this coming week! We are all proud of your accomplishments thus far and can’t wait to see how you do. You are already champions!
