Friday News

February 12, 2021

During COVID-19 we want to make sure we are keeping all of our 4-H families up to date as much as we possibly can! The entire Wyoming county 4-H staff is here for anything you and your families may need during this time so please do not hesitate to reach out to any of us with your question(s)!

4-H Club Meeting & Activity Guidance

Due to a high rate of COVID-19 cases and reduced healthcare capacities across the region, CCE Wyoming is continuing our suspension of all in-person group programming through the end of February. We know that this is disappointing news, and while we’re dismayed to extend our pause of in-person programming, we hope to ensure everyone’s health and safety for the weeks ahead. And while in-person programming may be on hold, our Ag and 4-H teams will continue to provide exciting virtual and hybrid at-home programming throughout the winter—as well as one-on-one guidance and support in the weeks ahead. CCE Wyoming will revisit its in-person group programming suspension in late February. Please be sure to check 4-H News, Farm & Homestead, and our social media streams for updates and announcements. Thank you again for your patience and understanding. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions for virtual programming!

4-H News…

Public Presentation Updates…

  • Due to the uncertainty pertaining to in person events, the 4-H staff has decided to move public presentations to a completely virtual event. Emails to all registered participants were sent out this week with the links for your zoom meeting, and meeting date and time. If you did not receive an email, have scheduling or presentation questions please email Sarah at sac347@cornell.edu. Although this virtual option is not ideal, public speaking skills utilizing an online platform is more important now more than ever. Youth may utilize PowerPoint, other presentation software, and posters and other props like years past. We hope families still take advantage of this opportunity! Email Sarah at sac347@cornell.edu for any questions.

2021 Cookie Sale...

  • Cookie sale began this week!! We encourage ALL of our 4-H membership to participate. Not only can you gain gift card incentives based off the number of cases you sell, but this is the only fundraiser we ask of our membership all year, and without it our programming would look much different. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to any of the 4-H staff. You can find links for the incentive sheets, cash/checks sheet, cookie chair information, and letter below. If you need an extra order form, please email the 4-H staff.
  • When you turn in your order form to your self-selected cookie chair, you will need to deliver your order form (which we will return to you upon cookie delivery, although we recommend you make a copy!), the green financial sheet, orange incentive sheet and all of you funds. Reminder that all checks need to be made out to ‘Wyoming County 4-H Leaders Association.’ Please communicate ahead of time with your chosen cookie chair to schedule a time to deliver your order.
