Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

  • As a reminder, our office will be closed, Monday, May 30th in observance of Memorial Day


Wyoming County 4-H Centennial Celebration!

Wyoming County Fairgrounds, Pike, Sunday, June 12th 12pm-4pm

  • 12-4pm Exhibit & memorabilia display…Youth Building
  • 1-3pm Kelly’s Old Timers…Ag Expo Center
  • 1:30-3pm Old Fashion Yard Games…Ag Expo Center
  • 3:30pm Formal Ceremony…Ag Expo Center
  • 12-3pm Pike Fire Department Food Stand
  • 12-2pm Catered Creations Beef on Weck Dinner Pickup
  • 1-3pm Yummies Ice Cream Truck
  • Don’t forget we are holding the Centennial Celebration on Sunday, June 12th at the Wyoming County Fairgrounds, 12-4pm.
  • There are still Beef on Weck dinner tickets available from the 4-H office for $12.00.Call us to place an order.
  • Apparel orders for those who chose to “ship to event” are available in the 4-H office. You may pick them up during business hours or at the event in June.

  • Pie contest information can be found HERE on our website! We encourage youth and adults to participate. Pre-registration is preferred but not required.
  • We are also still accepting alumni and family youth building exhibits, memorabilia, and mementos to be displayed in the youth building for this event. Please stop by our office to drop these items off at your earliest convenience.


Enrollment Deadline

  • All youth must be enrolled by June 1st to be eligible to exhibit at the Wyoming County Fair.
  • You can find blank enrollment forms HERE. Payment ($15 in county, $20 out of county residence) and enrollment forms can be dropped off at our office during business hours of 8:30am-4:30pm


Upcoming Livestock Events

Reminder that in order to show beef, sheep or pigs at the fair (auction or non-auction) you need to participate in one of the approved educational events for livestock. We are looking for someone to host our swine showmanship clinic. Here is what is still available:

  • Tuesday, May 31st @ 7pm – Wool Felting Workshop at the Ag & Business Center. Call the 4-H office to register so we have enough supplies.
  • Thursday, June 16th @ 7pm – Livestock Marketing at the Ag & Business Center. Please call the 4-H office to register so we have enough supplies.
  • Monday, June 20th @ 5pm – Sheep Showmanship at 1698 Nesbitt Road, Attica. Please call the 4-H office to register.
  • Tuesday, June 28th @ 7pm – Beef Showmanship @ 2939 Glor Road, Attica. Please call the 4-H office to register.
  • Thursday, July 14th @ 7pm – Last Chance Livestock Event at the Ag & Business Center. Please call the 4-H office to register.

Poultry Program Updates

  • As of this newsletter, we have not heard any updates from New York State as to the status of the 2022 fair showing season. We are on schedule for receiving market broilers (for registered auction program participants) and continuing with the broiler program. In the event that there are no live shows for 2022, we will implement modified show opportunities at fair. Stay tuned…


Market Poultry Program Kahoot!


Horse Program

  • Horseless Horse Club – The next horseless horse meeting will be Monday, June 13th at 6:30pm. Please email or call the 4-H office to let us know if youth will be attending.
  • Horse Certificates - Paperwork is due to the 4-H office on Wednesday, June 1st. You can find the blank horse certificate on our website HERE
    • Youth also must be enrolled by June 1st, to be eligible to exhibit at fair.
    • If you have any questions, please reach out to Sarah at sac347@cornell.edu
  • Rider Evaluations - Any 4-H youth that are new to the equine program or are moving up from Walk Trot/Novice  Jr/Sr will need to complete a rider evaluation.
    • Available opportunities include:
      • Wednesday June 1st 6:00pm at Bridgman Stables, Varysburg
      • Thursday June 23rd 6:00pm at Diana Henry’s, Bliss
      • Friday July 15th 6:00pm at Kelly Warriner’s, Perry
    • Please call the 4-H office to register for these events ahead of time. It is helpful to know how many youth to expect, when volunteers need to be coordinated.
  • Upcoming Horse Educational Events
    • There are only a few educational opportunities left to fulfill the educational requirement to show horses at the Wyoming County Fair! Please call the 4-H office to sign up.
      • Wednesday June 1st, immediately following rider evaluation – Showmanship Clinic at Bridgman Stables, Varysburg
      • Thursday June 23rd, immediately following rider evaluation – Gaming Clinic at Diana Henry’s, Bliss


Dog Graduation

  • Our dog obedience program is in full swing! If you have been participating in our 2022 program, you will be receiving a letter in the mail next week detailing all details for the upcoming graduation on June 21st at the Wyoming County Fairgrounds, upcoming trials, and fair paperwork. You can also access this information digitally at our website.


Dairy Program

  • Dairy Grade & Lease Paperwork - Paperwork is due to the 4-H office on Wednesday, June 1st. You can find the grade and leased animal certificates on our website at Dairy Grade& Lease Papers
    • In addition, ALL owned registered animals must be in the exhibitor’s name by June 1st.

  • Dairy Challenge - June 20th at 6:30 PM at the Ag & Business Center
  • Dairy Showing & Fitting Clinic - June 27th at 5:30 PM at the Wyoming County Fairgrounds


Goat Program

  • Goat Challenge - June 16th at 6:30 PM at the Ag & Business Center

Delicious Destinations

  • LAST CALL for participation in our ‘delicious destinations’ event on June 6th! Please reach out by Tuesday the 31st if individuals or clubs are planning on participating, so we can inform all participants on how much food items to bring for the event. Pheasant Pick-up Reminder

  • If you registered for the day-old pheasant project, the pheasants will be delivered to the 4-H office on Wednesday, June 1st. They will be available for pick up from 2:15 – 5:00 PM. If you have any questions, please reach out to Stephanie at sal294@cornell.edu or (585)786-2251.


Community Service Opportunity!

  • As many of you know, Wyoming County now owns the Ag & Business Center where our office is located, and they are looking for clubs or independent members looking for community service to plant flowers around building; they will provide all the materials needed. Please contact our office ASAP if you or your club are interested in this!
