- Saturday,
October 15, 2022, 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM at Beaver Meadow’s Audubon- 1610 Welch Rd,
North Java
- Are you curious about trees?
Perhaps you want to identify them by species or wonder why they grow with such
a variety of bark textures, leaf shapes, winter bud characteristics, branching
patterns, and other traits. Get to know your trees by joining us for a fun
filled morning with a natural resource’s specialist. We will collect leaf
samples and label them so youth can create a tree identification book. The hike
will happen rain or shine, so please dress accordingly. Materials that youth
will need to bring are a notebook and pen/pencil. Call the 4-H office at (585)
786-2251 to register, registration deadline is October 10th.
CAPRINE KIDS – COUNTY WIDE GOAT CLUB MEETING
- Tuesday
October 18th 6-7:30PM at the Ag & Business Center, Warsaw
RANCH
RIDING CLINIC
-
Saturday October 15th
10AM at ‘The Meadows’ – 2922 Two
Rod Rd., East Aurora NY 14052
-
Youth are encouraged to bring their horse or learn
from demonstration about the different opportunities that the Ranch Riding
Division has to offer. NYS 4-H has Ranch Riding as an opportunity, but our
county hasn’t traditionally offered ranch classes at shows and events. If there
are enough interested youth to participate in this division, there is a
potential to add some of these classes to the fair/qualifying show.
- Instruction will be led by Grace Carls, local horse
judge. This qualifies as an educational event to participate in the 2023
Wyoming County Fair.
- Please call the 4-H office by Thursday October 13th
to register for this event as it is helpful to have a headcount. Youth do not
need to trailer their horse in, but it is an opportunity for hands on work!
This event does fulfill the educational event requirement for the 2023 Wyoming
County Fair.
HORSELESS
HORSE CLUB MEETING
- Monday October 24th, 6:30pm
-
Any 4-H member age 5-18 are eligible to attend this
club. Youth do not need horses to participate. We hope to gauge interest at
this first fall meeting as to the direction the club wants to take for the year
and prepare for horse bowl in January. Please call the 4-H office to register
in advance.

October 15th which is a Saturday this year. Please make sure they
