The entire Wyoming county 4-H staff is

2022 Cookie Sale
- Thank you to all of those who
participated in the 60th annual 4-H cookie sale! The cookie order has been
placed, and delivery is expected around the first week of April. We will be
contacting all families when a delivery date is determined. Please note, due to
an unforeseen supply issue, the ‘Chocolate Chip Bear Paw’ variety was not
available when the cookie order was placed this week. Instead, all orders for
this cookie will be replaced with the ‘Back to Nature – Chocolate Chunk’
variety. We apologize for
the inconvenience. Please call our office with any questions or concerns
regarding this change.
Teen Council – Escape Room
- March
14th at 6:30 PM at the Ag & Business Center, Warsaw
- Chills
and spooky thrills as you race to find treasure and a hidden will before the
clock runs out! Did you really see that ghost? How scary a story can you tell?
This game of logic and mystery includes 13 challenges to solve in an immersive
escape room atmosphere. Clues to the answers are on the wall, floor, or in
envelopes players open as the game goes on.If you're looking for a spine-tingling adventure, this is it! To RSVP

Spring
Wyoming County 4-H Leaders’ Association Meeting
- Tuesday,
March 29th at 7:00pm; held at the Wyoming County Ag & Business Center (LC1)
- All enrolled
volunteer leaders are welcome and encouraged to attend this semi-annual
meeting. The Leaders’ Association is
responsible for the annual 4-H cookie sale. Profits from the sale each year are held in the leaders’ association
treasury and are used for a variety of 4-h programs, materials, awards, and
much more. The association plays an
important part in providing the best opportunities for 4-H families. Topics of discussion will include: 2022
budget; program updates, award trips, cookie sale, and centennial
celebration. You can RSVP for the

Horseless Horse Club
- Reminder that this county wide club meeting is scheduled for March
14th, 6:30pm at the Ag & Business Center! All enrolled 4-H youth with a
horse interest are welcome to attend.
Hippology
- Saturday, March 19th 9:30am
- Please call or email the 4-H office to register for this equine Skill-a-thon
opportunity for 4-H’ers 8+! This event qualifies as fulfilling an educational
opportunity for the horse project at the Wyoming County Fair.
Swine Kahoot!
- Saturday, March 12th (online Event)
- This is the last in the livestock Kahoot! series. Participants can play the game at their own
pace anytime on Saturday while it is open. This event will satisfy the educational event requirement for showing
4-H beef, sheep, or pigs at the fair. To

4-H Livestock Skill-a-thon
- Saturday, March 5th at 9:30am; held at the Wyoming
County Ag & Business Center
- Join us tomorrow morning for a fun, hands on event
where participants will work at their own pace through identification stations
on livestock breeds, parts of an animal, cuts of meat, feedstuffs, and
equipment. After everyone has completed
the stations, we go through them as a group to review. The event generally takes no more than 1.5
hours. Even if you didn’t pre-register
feel free to join us. This event will
satisfy the educational event requirement for showing 4-H beef, sheep, or pigs
at the fair.
Dairy Farm Robotic Rotary Tour
- March 19, 2022, at 10 AM; 3962 Batavia Elba Townline
Rd. Batavia, NY
- The 4-H program will be touring Oakfield Corners Dairy
where they recently installed the first robotic rotary in the Northeast. To
register for the event, call the 4-H office or email Stephanie at
sal294@cornell.edu. Register by March 14th.
4-H Dairy Judging
- Dairy Judging save the dates: April 16th in Arcade/North Java and
April 30th in Warsaw/Attica. More information will be available in the April
4-H News
Dog Obedience Program Open House
- Tuesday, March 15th, 6:30-8:00pm at the Ag & Business
Center– come to this meet and greet style opportunity to get to know our
obedience instructors, collect paperwork, have questions answered, and see some
obedience in action! Any enrolled 4-H member 8+ is welcome to participate in
the dog obedience program, beginning in early April. Contact the 4-H office for
more information!
Beginner Soldering Workshop
- Thursday, March 10th at 7pm; held at the Wyoming
County Ag & Business Center
- There are still a few spots left in this soldering
workshop ($10.00 fee for materials).Call the 4-H office to register by Wednesday 3/9.
Goat Farm Tour – Date Change!!
- The goat farm tour scheduled for March 22nd will be
rescheduled until May 3rd.
- The goat committee will be hosting a goat bowl
practice in place of the tour; located at the Ag & Business Center starting
at 6:00 PM on March 22nd.
Goat Bowl Practices
- March 17
& March 22, 2022, at 6:30pm at the Ag & Business Center, Warsaw, NY
- Stephanie
will lead a goat quiz bowl practice for any youth interested in practicing for
district goat bowl. This is open for cloverbuds, juniors, and seniors. Youth
will have the opportunity to use buzzers throughout the practice. Call the 4-H
office or email Stephanie if youth plan to attend.
Floats Needed
- This year the
Wyoming County Fire Convention will be held in Sheldon where they will be
celebrating their 100th year! They are looking for 4-H clubs to
enter floats in their parade that is held July 23rd. Please to Amy
Perl at 585-356-3002 (call or text) or perlclan@aol.com by the end
of May.
