Celebration!

4-H OFFICE IS SEEKING PARTICIPATION IN THIS EVENT! Please call/email the 4-H office
by May 20th for all of the following opportunities: 585-786-2251 or

Memorabilia (i.e. trophies, photographs, projects) to display in the
youth building from previous 4-H members and volunteers
•
Barn quilts – clubs can sign up for 1x1’ wooden barn quilts to decorate
for display in the youth building for this event, and fair (quantities limited)
•
Booths – Clubs can decorate their booths for the county fair ahead of
time for this special centennial celebration. The youth building will be open
June 10th & 11th for setup
•
Fruit Pie Contest – adults and/or youth can register for this event
taking place in the youth building. Pies must be in place by 2pm. Call the 4-H
office for more details.
•
Centennial Cookbook – community members are welcome to email, mail, or
drop off recipes for a commemorative centennial cookbook to be put together and
sold later this year. Recipes from club meetings, 4-H events and family recipes
are highly encouraged!
•
VOLUNTEERS – if individuals are interested in volunteering for this
event, please call the 4-H office! Specifically for games, youth building
setup, & organizing and setting up exhibits ahead of time!
BLUEBIRD HOUSE WORKSHOP
- There are still a few spots open for
the May 24th workshop. Registration is
$10 and you can call the 4-H office to RSVP.
HORSE PROGRAM

Horseless Horse Meeting – Scheduled for Monday, May 9th!
Any enrolled youth may participate in this county wide club.

Equine First Aid – Rescheduled for Wednesday, May
11th 6:30pm at the Ag & Business Center

THE
WONDERFUL WORLD OF WOOL WORKSHOP
- The
date for this event has been changed to Tuesday, May 31st at 7:00pm.We will look at a variety of wool samples and
do a wet felting project. Please RSVP
before the event by calling the 4-H office at 585-786-2251.

JUDGING
- Saturday,
April 30th at 10 AM; The contest will begin at Flint Farms- Route 20A, Warsaw

DAIRY
KAHOOT!
- Saturday, May
14th: The game will be open from 8:00am – 8:00pm on the scheduled
day. The virtual game platform will feature questions on a wide range of
topics. This will be a chance for youth to dial in skill for their dairy
project in a fun format from the convenience of a smart phone, tablet, or home
computer.
- Pre-registration
is required so participants can receive the game link via email. Must register

- Other notes for the day:
- Youth do not
need to bring own animal to be able to participate in demo.
- Youth can
share animal (Example: 4 zuber kids, want to bring just 2 animals to work with,
they can share and still show)
- No milk cows,
only heifers. Cattle can have heads and legs clipped. Wash animals the night
before
- Youth should
bring all of their clipping equipment. We usually don't wash all the animals at
the clinic, just one for a demo
- Youth should
bring hay, water buckets and a shovel. Must stay until the end of the day to
receive Giveaways.

applications for both the Beginning Dairy Leader for students in 10th grade to
seniors not graduated from high school, and the Junior DAIRY LEADER program for
youth age 16 to 19 are now open. More
