WYOMING COUNTY 4-H RE-ENROLLMENT TIME!!!

  • There is still time to enroll! To any returning member who has yet to enroll – there is now a $5.00 late fee.
  • New members need to be enrolled by April 15th to avoid a $5.00 late fee.
  • *Some programs like the Meat Animal Auction Project have earlier enrollment deadlines.

WIN-A-CALF/LIVING LEARNING DAIRY ORIENTATION

  • The orientation for both the Win-A-Calf and Living Learning Dairy projects will be held on Monday, December 11th at 6:30pm at the Ag & Business Center.
  • This orientation will explain the project and you will receive all the paperwork.
  • Please call the 4-H office, 786-2251, or email Stephanie to register.

PRODUCED IN NYS FOODS CONTEST

  • Saturday, January 13, 2024
  • Come participate in this year’s Produced in New York Foods Contest at the Ag & Business Center in Warsaw. Registration will start at 8:30AM ¬the contest will begin at 9AM. To learn about nutrition and practice food presentation skills, 4-H members will present a silent food demonstration, promoting items from the Empire State. All contestants will prepare recipes at the same time, without talking. Participants will be allowed 50 minutes to demonstrate. ¬The major ingredient of the recipe must feature a product grown or produced in NY State - such as fruits, vegetables, dairy or meat. This is your chance to be creative and have fun at the same time!
  • Age categories as of 1/1/24: *Cloverbuds: 5-7 years old Juniors: 8 - 12 years old Seniors: 13 - 19 years old Call the 4-H Office for more details and to sign up today!
  • *Please note Cloverbud recipes must be approved for appropriate skill level upon registration. Registration deadline is Friday, January 5th!! Recipes must be submitted at the time of registration.

DAIRY BOWL PRACTICES

  • If you are new to dairy, an independent member, or your club doesn’t have a full team; then come on down and practice at the 4-H office! Stephanie will be offering dairy bowl practices at the 4-H office to youth interested in participating in the dairy bowl contest. Dairy bowl is a quiz bowl contest that covers all aspects of the dairy industry from cows to milk products, to feeds.
  • Call the 4-H office at (585) 786-2251 or email Stephanie to register for one or all the practice sessions. RSVP’s are required or certain dates will be cancelled.
    • December 14th 6-7pm
    • December 19th 6-7pm
    • December 28th 6-7pm
    • January 10th 6-7pm

DAIRY BOWL

  • Saturday, January 27th at 9:30AM at the Ag & Business Center.
  • Teams of 3-4 can register at the 4-H office. Study packets are available by request. As a reminder, the Wyoming County 4-H/CCE Wyoming will be closed next Thursday, November 23rd and Friday, November 24th in observation of the holiday.

HORSE BOWL

  • Friday January 26th, 6:30pm at the Ag & Business Center.
  • Teams of 3-4 can register at the 4-H office. Study packets are available by request.

CCE OFFICE CLOSED FOR THE HOLIDAYS

  • As a reminder, the Wyoming County 4-H/CCE Wyoming will be closed next Monday, December 25, 2023, and Monday, January 1, 2024 in observation of the holidays.
  • We do have a drop box in the main foyer of the Ag & Business Center, however, please do NOT leave money in the drop box.
