Congratulations to all of our high school senior members that are graduating this weekend! We wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors.

DAIRY SHOWING AND FITTING CLINIC

  • Monday, July 10th at 6:30 PM at the Wyoming County Fairgrounds
  • The Dairy Committee has secured a highly experienced fitter and showman to lead our clinic. The clinic will cover topics of show ring etiquette, show equipment, and proper fitting. Youth need to wear closed toed shoes as we will be leading animals around the ring!
  • We will also be holding a Show White Exchange. Families can bring outgrown show whites and share with other 4-H families.


GOAT SHOWING AND FITTING CLINIC

  • Saturday, July 8th at 9:30 AM at the Wyoming County Fairgrounds
  • Youth will learn about the fundamentals of preparing a meat goat and dairy goat for the show ring. We will practice leading, setting up, and special maneuvers with the goats.
  • Following the clinic, we are asking families to stay and help clean and paint our goat stands. We would like to give them a new fresh look for the upcoming fair! All help would be greatly appreciated.

GOAT TROPHY SPONSORS NEEDED

  • We are looking for sponsors for a few goat trophies. We currently need two meat goat, and one dairy goat trophy to be sponsored for the 2023 Wyoming County Fair. Please contact the 4-H office or Stephanie if you have any questions or would like to sponsor these classes. Thank you!

RIDER EVALUATIONS

  • 4-H’ers who are new or need to move up a riding level must complete a rider evaluation to participate at the Wyoming County Fair! There is only one opportunity left: 
    • Saturday June 24th, 9am at Diana Henry’s home, Bliss

LAST CHANCE HORSE EDUCATIONAL EVENT

  • Reigning Clinic - Friday, July 7th at 7:00pm; Milhollen’s, Perry
  • This event will qualify as an educational event to show at the 2023 Wyoming County Fair.

BEEF SHOWMANSHIP MEETING

  • Saturday, July 8th, 9am in Attica
  • Additional information is found in the June-September 4-H News. This event will satisfy the educational requirements for exhibiting beef, sheep, swine, market goats or market poultry at the fair.

VET CHECK/HEALTH PAPER OPPORTUNITY AT THE FAIRGROUNDS

  • Saturday, July 8th, 10am – 12pm
  • If you are in need of health papers for 4-H livestock projects (beef, sheep, swine, goats) this is an opportunity to bring animals to the fairgrounds for health checks. More information and pricing is in the latest edition of the 4-H newsletter. You must call the 4-H office to set up an appointment ahead of time.

LAST CHANCE LIVESTOCK EVENT

  • Monday, July 10th, 7pm, Warsaw
  • Additional information is found in the June-September 4-H News. This event will satisfy the educational requirements for exhibiting beef, sheep, swine, market goats or market poultry at the fair.

SWINE SHOWMANSHIP MEETING

  • Thursday, July 13th, 7pm, Fairgrounds
  • Additional information is found in the June-September 4-H News. We are looking for a family that would be willing to bring a hog to the fairgrounds and help lead this meeting. Contact the 4-H office if you are interested. This event will satisfy the educational requirements for exhibiting beef, sheep, swine, market goats or market poultry at the fair.

POULTRY SHOWMANSHIP MEETING

  • Tuesday, July 11th, 6:30p, Fairgrounds
  • Additional information is found in the June-September 4-H News. This event will satisfy the educational requirements for exhibiting poultry at the fair.

PULLORUM TESTING FOR POULTRY

  • Tuesday, July 11th, 5:00pm – 6:30pm, Fairgrounds
  • Details are found in the June-September 4-H news. Families DO NEED to register beforehand so we have an estimated number of birds to be tested.

FREE FAIR TEE SHIRTS

  • Order forms are in the June-September 4-H news or in the 4-H office.

FAIR ENTRIES, FAIR BOOKS, PARKING PASSES

  • All animal fair entries are due July 15th! These forms are available on our website or in the 4-H office! If you have any questions or need help, please reach out to the 4-H staff!
  • Fair books are available in the 4-H office. There is also a PDF version on our website for your convenience.
  • Weekly parking passes are now available in the 4-H office at $30 per pass. If you are an enrolled 4-H leader you get one (1) discounted parking pass at $15; if you need additional passes, they will be $30. Please make checks payable to the Wyoming County Fair Association
